A few answers before you join.
Answers to common questions about joining, equipment, transportation, and the family experience.

Who is the program for?
Wrestlers ages 7–13. Teach2Learn students receive enrollment priority; remaining spaces are offered to other homeschool wrestlers in registration order. Maximum roster: 20, followed by a Teach2Learn-managed waitlist.
Does my child need wrestling experience?
Our program introduces wrestling fundamentals through active, games-based learning. Instruction builds confidence and gives wrestlers opportunities to grow.
What are practices like?
Expect movement, games, short technique demonstrations, partner practice, and wrestling activities that put new skills to use. We emphasize control, respect, and safe practice habits.
When and where will practices take place?
Mondays and Tuesdays, 4:15–5:15 p.m., at Elim Bible College Athletic Center in Lima. See the season calendar for the address, full practice dates, breaks, and the December 15 update.
How do my kids get from Teach2Learn to Elim?
For this short season, parents are required to drive their children from Teach2Learn to Elim for liability purposes. Each family is responsible for transporting its own children between the two locations.
How much does the season cost?
Team registration is $100 through Teach2Learn, plus a separately obtained $25 nonrefundable 2026–27 NYWAY Individual Membership—a $125 registration-and-membership subtotal per wrestler. Optional apparel is sold separately. Refund/cancellation terms and any tournament entry charges remain TBD.
How do we register?
Teach2Learn administers registration and team payments through Jumbula. Opening and priority-window dates and the registration link are TBD. Each wrestler must separately obtain the required NYWAY membership prior to team registration; Coach Baxter verifies it before participation.
What gear will my child need?
Wrestling shoes or grippy socks when shoes are unavailable (tournaments will require shoes); athletic clothing without zippers, exposed metal, or unsafe hardware; and a labeled water bottle. Headgear is optional unless tournament rules require it. Wear clean clothing and keep fingernails trimmed. Apparel is optional and sold separately.
Will wrestlers participate in tournaments?
We are planning toward the Albion Icebreaker on Sunday, January 17, 2027, but the date is still pending confirmation. We expect an update in the next few days. This tournament is a novice tournament meant specifically for athletes with very little live wrestling experience. Participation depends on wrestler readiness and coaching recommendations. Event times, entry instructions, and charges remain TBD.
Do wrestlers attend both practice days?
Yes. This mini-season uses one common team. Every wrestler is expected at the scheduled Monday and Tuesday practices; normal absences for illness, family obligations, and other reasonable circumstances are handled flexibly.
Do parents need to stay or volunteer?
Parents are welcome to observe but are not required to stay. A parent who leaves must remain reachable and return by the end of practice. We are seeking at least one assistant coach.
Who coaches the team?
Scott Baxter is the founder and head coach. Assistant coaches for Year Two are TBD.
